Thermoforming

Thermoforming

Thermoforming describes the process of heating a thermoplastic sheet to its softening point, stretching it over or into a single-sided mold, and holding it in place while it cools and solidifies into the desired shape.

Thermoforming operation consists of three phases:

  • heating
  • modeling
  • cooling

The most common applications for thermoformed plastic products are: interior parts for cars, shipping containers and packing, sports and recreation equipment, medical equipment and supplies for industrial purposes. Thermoformed products, fromĀ  PVC or acrylic plates, can be different holders for leaflets, brochures products (for POS) or atypical light boxes for a significant effect.
